Joyce “Dottie” Rambo killed in bus crash
Joyce “Dottie” Rambo a gospel songwriter killed after the bus she was in ran off a road in southwest Missouri & struck an embankment on Sunday (IST). Rambo was 74 years old. Rambo, of Nashville, Tenn., killed in the crash about two miles east of Mount Vernon on Interstate 44.
Seven other people in the bus were injured & were hospitalized in Springfield with moderate to severe injuries. It was unclear if the accident which occured about 12:00 pm on Sunday (IST) was weather-related.
Severe storms & tornadoes hit the region about 6 p.m. Saturday. Rambo was on her way to a Mother’s Day performance in North Richland Hills, Texas. Rambo was inducted to the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2006 & the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2007.
