July 17 — Action film ‘Batman’ is returning back. The production of ‘Batman 3′ will begin in April 2011 and is set to hit theaters on July 20, 2012. The star cast for Batman 3 will be Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman.
Batman 3 will not have the Joker to contend. Director Christopher Nolan says that he will not bring back the Joker. However, he is also not disclosing what villain or villains might take on Batman 3.
Joker was the villain played maniacally in “The Dark Knight” by the late Heath Ledger and his role earned Nolan an Academy Award year after his death. Ledger died in January 2008 due to an accidental prescription drug overdose. “The Dark Knight” brought record-breaking $158.4 million in the release date weekend in 2008.
While promoting his new film ‘Inception’, Nolan said: “Fir me, Heath was the definitive Joker. It wouldn’t feel appropriate to readdress that character.”
‘Batman 3′ is the 3rd in the series of Batman that began in the year 2005 with the 2008 movie ‘The Dark Knight’. Christopher Nohan directed the two Batman movie and he also wrote it with co-writer Jonathan Nolan, his brother.
