October 22 — Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan on Friday received National Award for the film ‘Paa’ as best actor. This is Big B’s fourth National Award after ‘Saat Hindustani’, ‘Agneepath’ and ‘Black’. He received the award from President Pratibha Patil.

In R Balakrishna’s ‘Paa’, Senior Bachchan has played the role of a 13-year-old progeria patient. The movie has been produced by his son Abhishek Bachchan. The film also won the best make-up artist award for Hollywood’s Christien Tinsley and Dominie Till.
Arundhati Naag bagged the award of best supporting actress for her role of senior Bachchan’s grandmother in ‘Paa’.
The movie was produced under the banner of AB Corp in a budget of Rs. 15 crore. The movie was distributed by Reliance Big Pictures.
In the award ceremony, the entire Bachchan family was present, including wife Jaya Bachchan, son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter Shweta Nanda and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai.
