Shootout at Green Park, 1 dead, 4 injured, 5 flee

ONE IS SHOT DEAD and four other have been injured in a police encounter today in Green Park area of south Delhi. All the four injured and one dead are suspected to be robbers who came to rob a bank according to the Delhi police. They are also said to be involved in recent bank robberies.

The injured four have been taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and one of them is reportedly critical. They are Abdul Shakeel, Satya Prakash alias Satte and Abdul Nassem.

Two members of this gang, the Satya Prakash gang, managed to flee during the encounter but have surrendered to a private TV channel. They have been identified as Harpal and Nadir.

The plan of the gang was to rob a bank. Police got the information prior to their attempt and around 4 pm a shootout started between the gang members and the cops. Satya Prakash, now captured, is their leader. Five other members of the gang managed to flee in a white Santro. Soon after the encounter, Delhi Police announced a reward of Rs 25,000 to the person who will give information about the white Santro.
