The Delhi Police on Sunday arrested Sanjeev Saxena, an assistant of former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh for his involvement in 2008 cash-for-votes scandal. A Parliamentary Committee had earlier named Saxena as a suspect and asked the police to probe his role.
Crime Branch Of Delhi Police called Saxena to their Chanakyapuri office where later he was placed under custody. Deputy Commissioner Of Police (Crime) Ashok Chand said that Saxena has been arrested for charges under Prevention Of Corruption Act and the police is also examining a CD of a sting operation carried out by a private news channel where Saxena is shown handling notes to 3 BJP MPs.
