7th July, 2012, New Delhi: On 30th September, approximately 30000 participants will be a part of the 8th edition of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. The half marathon that will cover a distance of 21 kilometers and it will carry $ 210000 (around Rs. 11651800) prize money.
The half marathon, which is devoted to spirit of friendship, will also have a seven kilometers Great Delhi run, a 4.3 kilometers senior citizens and wheelchair events as well. The event will also have super veteran, senior veteran and veteran categories for both men and women.
The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon is world’s richest half marathon and it is also awaited to draw in 40 of world’s top male and female long distance runner. This event is certified by the Association of International Marathons and Road Races and recognized by IAAF.
The registration for the event has already started. The half marathon entry fee will be Rs. 800. For Great Delhi Run the entry fee is Rs. 500 and for Senior Citizens’ Run as well as the for Wheelchair event, the entry fee is Rs. 200. The registrations will close on 31st August. The Indian male and female winners will receive Rs. 2.5 lakh.
