Delhi Airport Metro probably to re-start in August

7th July, 2012, New Delhi: Delhi Metro Airport Express that will freeze operations on Sunday after a huge construction defects were found and it is expected to re-start in August. The Airport Metro ferries more than 15000 people every day on a twenty-three kilometers network. This line covers a distance between New Delhi rail station and Indira Gandhi International Airport in just 18 minutes.delhi metro picture

At a press conference, Sudhir Krishna, the Urban Development Secretary, stated that they have to stop the service for commuter safety. By August’s end, they anticipate the line to be functional again. They have full trust the line will be restored after thirty days.

He also told that Reliance Infrastructure reported that some defects were there in civil structure and added that the operations must be frozen till the restoration goes on.
