GURGAON, India: On the Gurgaon Expressway tension engulfed Sunday after a clash between agitated labourers and the management staff of a private auto parts manufacturing company. The Gurgaon Police air-fired but the agitated mob began pelting stones towards the passing vehicles on the expressway.

In this clash at least 9 people have been injured claims Gurgaon police. According to the locals 22 people have been injured. The injured has been admitted to various city hospitals including Ayushman Hospital.

In this context the police has detained number of people. According to S S Deswal, Gurgaon Police commissioner, the condition remained under control.

Deswal said that the incident sparked off two months before. He said, “The company had sacked four employees and around 250 men began protesting this. A couple of days ago, the Haryana Labour department declared the strike illegal. On Sunday, the labourers were waiting with wooden sticks and rods. The moment the staffers came out, they attacked them. As the police fired in the air, there is no question of anyone receiving injuries.”

According to sources a motorbike was also burnt in the clash.
