Vineet Nayyar is new chairman of Mahindra Satyam

HYDERABAD, India: Vineet Nayyar is appointed as the new chairman of Mahindra Satyam. He was heading as the vice-chairman of the company so far.

This was announced the board meeting of the company. The statement of Mahindra Satyam also said that the former Sebi chairman M Damodaran and Gautam Kaji have been appointed as the additional directors of the company with immediate effect, expanding its board to eight members.

Mahindra Satyam also said that it had appointed Deloitte Haskins & Sells as the company’s statutory auditor for fiscal year ended March 31, 2009 and also for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2010.

Deloitte Haskins & Sells is one of the two audit firms that had roped in by the postscam Satyam Board to restate accounts. It will vet the accounts of the company for the 2008-09 and 2009-10 fiscals as statutory auditor.

Satyam was acquired by the Tech Mahindra in April this year and has secured time until June 2010 from the Company Law Board to file financials, which also include quarterly results.
