Zimbabwean police arrested two foreign journalists
Apr 3rd, 2008 | Category:Breaking News, World NewsTwo foreign journalists has been arrested by Zimbabwean police on Friday at a hotel in the capital Harare on suspicion of reporting without press accreditation. Paramilitary police in riot gear raided the hotel used by foreign journalists & took away three or four reporters.
Police had surrounded the hote as the country awaits the result of a tense presidential vote.
A senior official of Police said, “I can only confirm that we have arrested two foreign journalists at York Lodge. They are being investigated for practicing without accreditation. They were picked up early this evening & taken to police custody.”
The official has gave no details on either the names or the nationality of those arrested.
