Tornadoes killed 7 in US
Several tornadoes hit US states early on Friday local time in which at least 7 people killed. A 15 years old girl has been died in her sleep when a tree fell on her home in Arkansas state of southern US.
A spokesperson for the state’s Emergency Management Department confirmed the deaths of six others in three counties of Arkansas, including three members of one family & a father & a son.
The severe weather also cut off power supply to thousands of houses in northwest Arkansas but no major structural damage has been reported. Tornadoes were also reported in MIssouri, Texas & Oklahoma but there were no reports of any causalities.
Massive damage to houses & businesses was reported in Kansas city, Missouri, as a violent storm system including hurricane-force winds, hail & heavy rain, moved through the region early Friday morning, injuring at least three people.
An official said, “We have reports of houses with no roofs left on them, widespread heavy tree damage with power lines down & roads blocked”.
In Texas, a tornado struck around 8:30 a.m. local time in Canton, where large trees were uprooted & fell on cars, smashing windows & flattening tires.
