Shootout in northern Mexico killed 14
Apr 7th, 2008 | Category:Breaking News, World NewsAt least 14 killed in a shootout in northern Mexico police said today. A senior official of Police said that the armed clash between rival drug gangs in northern Mexico left 14 people dead.
The shootout continued for many hours on Sunday late night (IST) in the cities of Parral & Matamoros in the state of Chihuahua, which borders the US.
Mexico’s federal government recently sent special anti-narcotics security forces to Chihuahua to combat drug traffickers.
The defence minister ordered reinforcements Sunday to Chihuahua to quell the violence.
