Sheikh Hasina Former Bangladesh PM hospitalized

Sheikh Hasina the former premier of Bangladesh’s ailing was admitted to the hospital in Dhaka amid tight security after which the doctors recommended that she be sent abroad for treatment.

The 60 years old Awami League chief was admitted to the private Square Hospital on Tuesday following complaints of partial hearing loss, raised blood pressure & eye & cardiac problems. An official of hospital said that a panel of expert doctors who examined Hasina recommended that “she be sent to the United States for ear treatment as she runs the risk of going completely deaf”.

Hasina had suffered ear injuries in a 2004 grenade attack on a party rally that killed 24 others.
Doctors said Hasina had gone totally deaf in her left ear and she hears “very little” from her right ear.
