Security has been beefed up at Islamabad’s international airport on Thursday after a telephone threat that warned of a bomb attack. A senior security official said, “We received a call this morning that a bomb attack was expected around midday”.

Security officials were scanning the area around the airport, which was renamed Benazir Bhutto International Airport earlier this year in memory of the assassinated former premier. He said, “We were already alert & have now further beefed up security at the airport”.
