Earthquake in Tokyo, Japan
An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 struck Tokyo on Friday (IST). There were no immediate reports of any casualties. The earthquake was occurred at 7:02pm. The epicentre of this earthquake was some 60 kilometres north of Tokyo,
The agency said it saw no tsunami threat from the earthquake. Earthquakes are common in Japan, one of the world’s most seismically active areas.
The country accounts for about 20 per cent of the world’s earthquakes of magnitude 6 or greater.
