Earthquake in Santiago in Northern Chile
Mar 2nd, 2008 | Category:Breaking News, World NewsAn earthquake of magnitude 5.6 rattled the northern Chile on Saturday, 35 km east-northeast of the city of Iquique. No damage or injuries were immediatley reported. According to the U.S. Geological Survey the earthquake was occurred at 4:52 pm local time & struck at a depth of about 35 km.
An official said, “No injuries were reported. In the southern district of Iquique, power was partially cut”. In November, a 7.7-magnitude quake hit Chile’s northern region in which two people were killed & 100 injured.
