Clashes in Baghdad killed 75
Siite gunmen & Iraqi & US troops in Baghdad’s Sadr City clashed in which 75 people killed & 500 injured over the past four days, an Iraqi official said on Saturday.
A senior official of health department said, “Seventy-five people have been killed & 498 injured in clashes in Sadr City in the last four days”. The official accused the US forces of “creating obstacles” in transporting victims of the violence outside Sadr City.
The official said, “They are preventing even international aid workers to help the injured”.
Clashes erupted in the neighbourhood after Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki launched a crackdown on Shiite fighters in the southern city of Basra on Tuesday.
