China Police arrested 9 for exploding bomb
Apr 13th, 2008 | Category:Breaking News, World NewsChina Police has arrested nine persons for allegedly responsible for exploding a homemade bomb in a Tibetan township government building last month as part of anti-government protests.
The suspects headed by 27 years old Rinqen Jamcan, a ranking monk in the Tongxia Monastery in the town, were apprehended after the case was cracked on April six.
Cewang Yexe, one of the suspects, carried the homemade bomb on a motorcycle to the site at the Gyanbe township in Qambo prefecture & detonated it with others before fleeing.
Eight other persons are also from the same temple. The monks-led protests in the Tibetan capital of Lhasa had turned violent on March 14 and spread out to Sichuan & Gansu provinces also. The violence left 20 people dead.
