Two killed & two injured after a bomb blast in a mosque in eastern Nepal. The attack was claimed by a group that wants the Himalayan nation declared a Hindu state. A senior official of Police said that the attackers tossed several bombs at the mosque just after Saturday evening prayers.

A group calling itself the Nepal Defense Army sent a statement to the independent Kantipur Television network claiming responsibility & saying it “would continue such attacks until Nepal is reinstated as a Hindu nation”.

Muslims are a minority in predominantly Hindu Nepal which was declared a secular state in 2006.
The Nepal Defense Army also said it would attempt to disrupt April 10 voting to elect a Constituent Assembly, which will write a new constitution & decide the future political system for Nepal.

The major political parties already decided the centuries-old monarchy system in Nepal would be abolished after the election.
