Sir Arthur C Clarke a british science fiction writer died on Wednesday in Sri Lanka. He was died at 01:30 am local time after a cardio-respiratory attack. He was 90 years old. He was born on 16 December 1971 in Somerset. He had won worldwide acclaim with more than 100 books on space, science & the future.

Sir Arthur C Clarke was educated at Huish’s Grammar School in Taunton before joining the civil service. He was the author of more than 100 fiction & non-fiction books & his writings are credited by many observers with giving science fiction a human & practical face.

He came to fame in 1968 when a short story “The Sentinel” was made into the film 2001: A Space Odyssey by director Stanley Kubrick.

Once called “the first dweller in the electronic cottage”, his vision of future space travel and computing captured the popular imagination.
