Ansar Burney deportation: Govt ordered probe

The preliminary report of Foreigners Regional Registration Office has already been submitted to the Ministry. The report, claims that Burney was deported, as his papers were not in order. Ansar Burney had arrived in India to participate in an anti-terrorism conference in New Delhi.
On Saturday, the Home & Foreign Secretaries discussed the matter, which has become a major embarrassment for the government. A shell-shocked Burney said that he was unable to comprehend the reason behind this strange act of the Indian government & he would bring the matter into the notice of the United Nations.
