Afghan, coalition forces killed 35 militants
Afghan & coalition forces have killed 35 militants in two skirmishes in southern Afghanistan. The coalition said that 20 militants were killed in Kabul province after they attacked a combined patrol with rockets, mortars & gunfire. The combined forces returned fire & called in airstrikes against the insurgents in yesterday’s battle.
The coalition said that 15 militants were killed in the sanguine area of Helmand province on Saturday after a group of men in a treelike fired on afghan & coalition troops. Two hours of fighting ensued & military aircraft were again called in. More than 1,900 people have been killed in insurgent violence in Afghanistan this year.
