6.0 Magnitude earthquake rocked northern Taiwan
An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 struck northern Taiwan on Sunday late night, rattling buildings, but causing no damage or casualties. The epicentre of this earthquake was about 20 kilometres north of the northeastern city of Ilan. The quake rocked Taiwan at 22:29 (IST) on Sunday.
Ilan is about 70 kilometres east of the capital of Taipei. The Central Weather Bureau has said this latest earthquake is not related to the 6.4 magnitude temblor that struck in the Pacific Ocean off of southern Taiwan on Sunday. Earthquakes frequently rattle Taiwan, but most are minor and cause little damage
