50,000 people homeless after cyclone in Myanmar
Authorities of Burma said that more than 50,000 people have been left homeless in three townships alone. The death toll from the cyclone has reached 15,000 & 30,000 are missing.
Burmese authorities have declared a state of emergency in five municipalities across the country. The Rangoon district, Pegu, Mon State, Karen State & the Irrawaddy Division, were hardest hit during the cyclone.
Around 24 million people live in the five areas alone. The charity said villages along the Irrawaddy Delta were the worst affected.
