110 Tibetan “rioters” surrender on Tuesday
The senior officials on Wednesday said that at least 110 “rioters” involved in protests in the Tibetan capital Lhasa have surrendered.
The 105 people gave themselves up to authorities on Tuesday, 23 hours after a deadline set by the government for those involved in last week’s unrest to surrender.
At least 200 people had been killed in Tibet riots in Lhasa, which has witnessed days of protest by Buddhist monks against the Chinese rule.
Violence was erupted in Lhasa on March 14 when protesters led by Buddhist monks clashed with Chinese troops & burnt vehicles & shops in the biggest and angriest demonstrations in two decades against the Chinese rule.
